title. SOUTHWELL WORKHOUSE

A project in collaboration with Southwell Workhouse which is owned by the National Trust. The project was site- specific and based on the theme of Social Care. I worked alongside a volunteer, Bridget, from the workhouse. The aim of the project was to produce a cos-pro that narrates a story of an individual who lived in the workhouse, whilst also responding to the location. My story was set during the 1970s.

 

Design Concept: The tea- towel dungarees represent a stained childhood, whilst the Punk 'n' Politics leather jacket is a metaphor for the chaotic outside world during the 1970s.....
